AFTER-HOURS UPDATE (Jan. 28) – AAPL (+9.96 pct), SWIR (+8.1 pct), YHOO (+1.9 pct), VMW (-15.1 pct), STX (-5.6 pct)

THE major averages wrapped up Monday’s session mainly where they started: The DJIA and S&P 500 registered slight declines, while the NASDAQ added 0.21 percent, seeing relative outperformance from tech firm Apple Inc (AAPL 449.82, +9.96).

AAPL stock finished higher by 2.31 percent after dismal earnings caused the tech giant to lose almost 13.1 percent last week.

Other major after-hours movers in terms of earnings were the following:

SWIR (+8.1 percent), PLXT (+4.7 percent), MSPD (+3.3 percent), PCL (+3.0 percent), YHOO (+1.9 percent), CR (+1.8 percent), STLD (+1.3 percent), CTS (+1.3 percent), VMW (-15.0 percent), SANM (-8.1 percent), BMC (-7.7 percent), STX (-5.6 percent), EMC (-4.8 percent), IRF (-2.2 percent), DLA (-2.1 percent), ILMN (-1.2 percent).
